About EVGrid
A live social map for EV drivers, built around three things: seeing who's actually around you, staying safe while you drive, and clearly labeling simulated demo data along the way.
EVGrid started from a simple frustration: EV drivers already form real communities on the road — meeting up for road trips, comparing charging stops, and helping each other — but there was no live, purpose-built place for all of it. Group chats and forums are static, while a generic map app does not connect the people sharing the same journey.
So EVGrid is exactly that: sign in, choose how you want to share, and your map centers on where you are — showing other opted-in EVGrid drivers nearby. Connecting a Tesla is optional and unlocks supported vehicle features. From there it's yours to use as little or as much as you want. Wave at someone. Send a friend request. Start a Convoy and watch it move together, live, with shared stops and a regroup point if someone falls behind. Post to the Feed. Talk over Nearby Radio. Or just glance at the map and go about your drive.
Charger locations come from live data rather than invented listings. In the signed-in Grid, vehicle details for connected Teslas come from Tesla's Fleet API instead of a manually entered model; the public tour keeps its simulated drivers clearly labeled. Privacy controls affect what the app publishes, and database rules separately restrict access to private, friend, and Convoy location channels.
What's actually built.
A live map, not a directory
See opted-in EVGrid drivers moving around you in real time — 2D or 3D, your choice.
Wave, connect, convoy
A lightweight wave, a full friend request, or start a Convoy and drive together with shared destinations and regroup points.
Community Feed
Post updates and photos, tag a Supercharger or your car, and like, comment, and share with nearby drivers or friends.
Real charging data
Real charging networks, including Tesla Superchargers, sourced from live data. EVGrid never invents a charger that isn't there.
Nearby Radio
Push-to-talk with other EVGrid drivers around you, right from the map. Currently in Beta.
Real navigation
Turn-by-turn guidance with road-matched tracking, live rerouting, and a driving mode built for the road, not a screen full of menus.
Built for the car
A dedicated, glanceable /drive experience for compatible in-car browsers, including Tesla's browser.
Your real Garage
Connect your Tesla account and every vehicle shows up automatically — model, color, and trim, straight from your car.
Privacy by design
Ghost, Nearby, Friends, or Convoy — you choose your precision. Nearby receives an approximate position; private and group-only channels are access-controlled by database rules.
