Terms of Service

Last updated September 4, 2026.

1. Agreement

These Terms govern your use of EVGrid. By creating an account or using EVGrid, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, don’t use EVGrid.

2. Not affiliated with Tesla

EVGrid is an independent service built by an independent operator. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or officially connected to Tesla, Inc. in any way. “Tesla” and related marks belong to their respective owner; EVGrid connects to your Tesla account solely through Tesla’s own official Fleet API, with your explicit authorization.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create an EVGrid account. A Tesla account is optional. Features that read vehicle data or send a vehicle command require a valid Tesla account with at least one registered vehicle and a successful connection through Tesla’s account system.

4. Your account

You’re responsible for what happens under your account. Keep your sign-in credentials secure and tell us if you believe your account has been compromised. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, that we reasonably believe were created to abuse EVGrid or circumvent access controls, or that put other drivers at risk.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Harass, stalk, threaten, or impersonate other drivers.
  • Use location data, Nearby Radio, or Convoys to track or locate someone without their consent.
  • Attempt to bypass access controls or falsify identity or vehicle information.
  • Interfere with, scrape, reverse-engineer, or overload EVGrid’s systems.
  • Use EVGrid in a way that encourages unsafe or distracted driving, or that violates local traffic laws.
  • Submit false safety reports or misuse the reporting system to harass another user.

6. Beta features

Some features, including Nearby Radio, are labeled Beta. Beta features are provided experimentally, may change, break, or be removed at any time without notice, and are used at your own discretion. Nearby Radio connects nearby users’ devices directly (peer-to-peer); connection quality and availability can vary by device, browser, and network, and are not guaranteed.

7. Driving safety

EVGrid is not a substitute for attentive driving. You are solely responsible for operating your vehicle safely and in compliance with all applicable laws, including laws governing the use of mobile devices while driving. Never interact with EVGrid in a way that takes your attention off the road.

EVGrid community help beacons and road reports are not emergency services and do not contact 911 or another emergency responder. Contact local emergency services directly when urgent help is needed.

8. Content you share

Content you submit to EVGrid—including display names, profile information, Feed posts, photos, captions, comments, likes, messages, location or vehicle tags, reports, and feedback—remains yours. You retain any intellectual-property rights you have in that content.

You grant EVGrid a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, process, display, and distribute that content only as needed to operate, secure, improve, and promote the EVGrid features where you chose to share it. This license includes creating technical copies or resized versions of uploaded photos and showing public or audience-limited posts to the people you selected. It ends when the content is deleted from our systems, except for reasonable backup, legal, safety, or evidentiary retention and copies other users may have independently shared.

You must have the rights and permissions needed to share your content, including permission from people identifiable in a photo when required. Do not post content that is unlawful, deceptive, threatening, harassing, sexually exploitative, privacy-invasive, or infringing. We may remove or restrict content, preserve it for a safety investigation, or suspend accounts when we reasonably believe content violates these Terms or puts another person at risk.

9. Termination

You can stop using EVGrid and permanently delete your account from Settings at any time. You may also contact us for deletion help. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, misuse the platform, or put other users’ safety at risk.

10. Disclaimers

EVGrid is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. We do not guarantee the accuracy of map data, routing, speed-limit information, or charge estimates — always verify against your vehicle’s own instruments and posted signage.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, EVGrid and its operator are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including but not limited to damages resulting from reliance on map, routing, or vehicle data, or from interactions with other users.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms as EVGrid changes. If we make material changes, we’ll update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continuing to use EVGrid after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to the operator’s place of residence, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where local law requires otherwise.
